Courtney Bauder
Social Justice Advocate | DEI Expert
Courtney Bauder (he, him, his) currently serves as the Director of the Social Justice Minor Program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he has taught a wide variety of courses for 20 years, and was recently recognized with the "Edward Penson Distinguished Teaching Award." As a lifelong learner and reflective practitioner, he continues to educate himself and others about issues of diversity on a local, national and global scale, having traveled to over 40 countries, and serving on a wide variety of community and global organizations addressing discrimination and inequity, and promoting inclusivity and human rights.
For more than 15 years he has supported educators, health care practitioners, corrections officers, and people in diverse faith settings, among others, to navigate through challenging but essential conversations about self-identity, intersectionality, equity, power, privilege and justice and has provided numerous courses, workshops, and trainings across the Midwest to help educators consider their role as culturally responsive practitioners and advocates for equity and justice. He lives in Appleton, Wisconsin with his wife, Gloria, a special education teacher, and two children, Adera and Camden.
